Drawing from diverse sources such as Luke 14:25-33, John Mayer's "Something's Missing" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogInSvYfjHw) and even a front page article "Midlife Crisis in the San Jose Mercury news Rev. Dr. Ken Henry illustrates that even with everything we have, something is missing, the purpose for why we are here. People in their 40s and 50s fear loosing assets more than they fear dying. We're living in a time of overload. Do you appreciate the benefits that technology, such as email provides? Or is there still something missing? Could you leave your cherished possessions behind to heed God's call? If asked to do something right now, would you do it? If something is missing in your life, is there another direction you need to go? Henry suggests you seek a spiritual life and follow Christ's call and love your neighbor, unconditonally.
Liturgists Steve Nelson reads from Psam 104:1-13,24 and Rev. Marge Palmer reads Luke 14:25-53.
